Our radio station will be called ‘Radio Fresh’. Our questionnaire said that as well as people wanting to listen to music they wanted to hear weather, news and traffic announcements. The feedback was positive about news so we would like to add that and focus on this section as well as the music and friendliness of the show.
As it is a common feature of a radio station to include jingles before and after each section we will include a catchy jingle, which doesn’t overpower the audience and seems too in your face.
The genres of our radio station are varied as we want a wide range of listeners of different taste, gender and age. Dubstep, RnB, Dance and Indie are the genres that will be played. Different playlist for each sort of sections will be played at different types to split t he music around, but it could also be mixed up now and again so people don’t have to wait for a particular song.
As well as concentrating on the weather/news and the music, the presenter has to be formal and well spoken as this is what people want, it will be a male in ours, but according to the questionnaire people are not bothered on a gender. People calling into the show could be used as an entertainment section, also people calling in about traffic announcements and weather would be good to add.
Mentioning people texting and emailing in to the show would be a good technique as it shows we like hearing your opinion. Also podcasts will be created so listeners can download music and different shows on the radio station off the internet.
